Applications

Applications
DIN MAT. 4021 is used for higher-strength components being in contact with water of vapour, e.g. or turbine blades, shafts, spindles, valve cones and seats in steam and water fitting, also for surgical instruments for non-cutting applications like pairs of pincettes and pliers etc.

Applications
With a polished or fine-ground surface DIN MAT. 4034 is resistant to water and vapour, if subjected to the necessary care even to the aggressive agents in household. However, presumption for this is the parts being used in a hardened condition. DIN MAT. 4034 is used for the manufacture of stainless cutlery of and kind, like kitchen knives, pocket knife blades, meat knives as well as for slide calipers.

Applications
Due to its high resistance in conjunction with good tensile strength values and favourable running features, DIN MAT. 4057 is suitable for machine parts Subjected to higher mechanical stress at limited attack, e.g. valve parts, pump and fan shafts as well as compressor impellers in nitric acid processing industry, in milk and dairy, yeast, starch and paper producing industries, also for marine shafts in fresh water, and to a limited extent also in sea water.

การใช้งาน

Applications
DIN MAT. 4401 should be applied only in wall thicknesses up to 6 mm and diameters up to 40 mm.  Due to its Mo-addition this steel has a much higher resistance particularly to non-oxidizing acids and against pitting by chloride ions.  It is used in architecture exposed to aggressive atmospheres (sea air, industrial atmosphere).  A wide field of application for this steel grade is in the construction of apparatus for textile finishing, but also in chemical industry, for household appliances and transporting containers for aggressive media.  It is resistant to inter-granular corrosion under continuing attack up to 300˚ C.  As drawn wire DIN MAT. 4401 is used for screws, nuts forming parts, additionally for sieves and webs.
