Applications
ST 2083 ESR is classified as rust free steel and tool steel for making plastic molds, can be used in a wide range of work, as it is good corrosion resistant and molds do not rust when having to be kept in damp and wet cooling water during processing, it can be used in almost every type of work especially plastics that are highly corrosive, such as amino plastic group and thermo plastic which transform into acetic acid, including PVC plastic. Applications
As supplied in hardness approx 40 HRC (approx 1250 N /mm2) Hardening method: Precipitation process (soaking hardness) new cast mold, very good smooth glister polish, suitable for EDM, good for milling and welding work, suitable for hardening by nitriding method, very good additional hardness because of extra hardness when compared to ordinary molds. ST PH42 Supra Suitable for all types of tools for plastic making requiring good strength such as high-pressure molds and squeezing molds and hot-work applications. ST PH42 Supra is ordered in Precipitation hardness condition with hardness of approx 38-42 HRC which does not require additional hardening treatment.
